We all know times are hard right now and things are just as difficult for us as well. We know you may be thinking "well at least you guys have jobs and a business"...yes, you are correct on that, but these jobs here at The Three Wise Cats and Haven of Kindred Spirits (our parent company) are completely volunteer. Even the company owner draws no salary...even that position is volunteer! In the past, the volunteers (including the owner) are who have funded Haven and kept it running, but we've all fallen on difficult times and not even the owner can afford to keep contributing funds to keep things up and running.
This is where you, our loyal customers and supporters come in.
We are running another donation drive so we may help continue our cause and keep Haven and its subsidiaries--Three Wise Cats (on and offline), PERISH--running. For every donation of $5 that you contribute we will give you a ticket that is worth one entry in to our drawing on April 1st. We will be giving away two gift baskets/boxes that value over $50 and $100 retail (one $50+ and one $100+ will be given away). For every $500 we raise, we will add another two gift baskets to be given away! As an extra incentive, for every $25 you donate, you receive an extra entry (totaling six entries per $25). If you donate $100, you receive even more extra entries totaling 25 entries per $100!
What We Do & Why We Are Soliciting Donations
For many individuals, the services and support Haven (and its subsidiaries) provide are invaluable. Here are some of the things we have done in the past and continue to contribute to the community as a whole:
*Provide a safe, non- judgmental, and friendly place for individuals of all beliefs, all practices, and all levels of experience and knowledge to gather, exchange ideas and learn both on and offline.
*Provide meet-ups and gatherings for individuals in the community.
*Provide educational classes and discussions (on and offline) for open-minded individuals to learn about other beliefs and practices and share their ideas and experiences.
*Provide a support network for alternative beliefs, alternative lifestyles, and subculture communities.
*Participate in promoting unity through diversity through respect, knowledge and understanding.
*Provide a friendly and knowledgeable staff to help you with your spiritual needs...whether it be magickal, spiritual, paranormal.
*Contributed to Toys For Tots, Fight For A Cure, MS, ASPCA, and other charities that work to improve the world and those who live in it.
Several years ago we raised enough money to rescue a fellow pagan/kin from the Hurricane Katrina disaster and return her to her home in Las Vegas so she could receive the proper medical care she required for her Degenerative Disk Disease and Cancer. The list continues on, but we believe you get the point! Haven has spent the last five years not only supporting the alternative belief/subculture communities, but helping the community as a whole to show that just because we may believe different things, live different lifestyles or look different than the mainstream norm, we have a giving and caring nature that crosses all societal barriers.
